A floor to sleep on, from somebody who lives here.

Airbnb started as three people renting air mattresses to strangers who couldn’t get a hotel room during a conference. This is that, and only that: neighbours offering a couch, a spare room, a driveway — mostly to people coming to town for a meeting, a hearing, a hearing they’re testifying at, or a shift on somebody else’s fight.

No money moves through this site. Hosts say what they’re asking — usually nothing — and anything else is settled between two people who know each other’s names by then. There is no fee, no deposit and no card on file, because the moment a platform holds the money it stops being neighbours and starts being a landlord.

Nobody in Missouri City is offering a place yet.

This board is empty on purpose. Nothing here is seeded or invented — every listing is a real room in a real house, put up by a member, which means the first one has to come from somebody who lives somewhere.

Why this is on a records site

Half of showing up is getting there. A hearing at 9am in a county seat two hours away decides something, and the people it decides it about are the ones who can least afford the night before it. The Mobilizer counts who says they’ll be in the room; this is how some of them get there.

Your street address is never shown publicly — not on this page, not on your listing, not to a moderator. A guest is given it when you confirm their stay, and not a moment earlier.
